Maybe there's a reason... And then there's just a lie... Maybe there's a smile... But with it comes a sigh... And I can't help but feel like I've lost my very being... ... d**nit! Why can't I think of anything? Kaito's thoughts echoed around his head as he lay on his back in a field near Hikari, staring up at the sky. He had come to visit his friend Aimi, but had gotten distracted by words... Words that forced themselves into his head and wouldn't leave him alone... So he came by a field and lay down, watching the clouds roll by as he tried to make sense of the words in his mind.
"Aimi..." the whisper escaped his lips as he stared up at the clouds. For some reason he was having a hard time thinking of anything other than her for the past week and a half it seemed. "In such a world as this has become... You seem to be the only light left in it..." And you always make me smile... Even if there's really nothing to smile about... He sighed and shifted his position a bit, then returned to mulling over the words.
Maybe there's a reason, And then there's just a lie, Maybe there's a smile, But with it comes a sigh... There's a feeling burning, Burning deep inside my soul... And it's turning... Turning into a black hole... d**nIT! That's HORRIBLE!

Dressed in a white kimono and a thin cream-colored winter coat (along with th e traditional footwear), Aimi steadily walked down the stone-paved streets of Hikari, she headed towards the large fields of wild flowers and plants. Her silver-blue hair was nice, fixed in a neat bun, held by two chopsticks, with a trail of hair, probably to long to be aligned with the bun.
"I wonder...If Kaito is at the field yet..." She whispered to herself, watching each of her small steps. She quickened her pace a little bit, worried of Kaito waiting for long,or maybe being bored to death.. Another sigh, then silence. Almost there, she thought to herself, turning a corner, comming towards the "wilderness" of Hikari City.

Kaito sat up as he sensed a presence nearby, then glanced around. Spotting a figure in the distance, he tilted his head to the side and stared at it for a while. "Aimi...?" he said softly. Slowly, he pulled himself up onto his feet, then waved to his friend. "Ai-chan!" he called. "I'm over here!" Once satisfied that he had more than likely caught his friend's attention, he lowered himself back onto the ground and returned to cloudwatching and mulling over words.
Maybe there's a reason... And then there's just a lie... Maybe there's a smile... But with it comes a sigh... Maybe were were meant to be... And... Ughk... For the love of the Great Silar! Why can't I think of anything?!

Aimi paused for a second, seeing the figure from afar stand. Hearing the words, she gave a slightly cheesy smile to herself, and quickly walked towards Kaito, a "fake" solemn expression upon her face. Once about five feet away from him, she stopped. "So..." She said softly, her solemn look disappearing from her face. She slowly continued walking towards him, taking the place beside him. "I really missed you, Kai.."

"...I missed you, too..." Kaito hesitated, unsure of how to resond. He smiled a bit, and leaned back, letting his head touch the ground once more. "So what's new?"
You'll give me a reason, I'll tell you a lie, Then I'll give you a smile, And you'll retort with a sigh... And everything is darkening our soul... Seems like we're falling deeper into that black hole...

She smiled towards Kaito, watching him think bout whatever was on his mind. "Well, nothing really has happened....I've just been hanging around Hikari, watching after my feline friends." She paused a short time, wondering of what else has happened. "Yup, that's all I've really been doing." .......pause....... "What have you been up to this past week or so, Kai?"

"...Nothing much.... Still searching..." He paused a moment, stifling a yawn. "...For the Great Silar... Cloud-watching helps relieve stress, I've found." Just wish it were more useful for helping me catch up on sleep. He sighed and stared up at the clouds, still rolling by, then blinked when a small fleck of snow landed on his face.

Aimi sighed, thinking of what the Great Silar's fate was. Did the Great Silar pass away? Has he been captured, or is he still alive some where? "Cloud-watching....I've grown fond of the clouds above our heads....They are so..elegent and....fluffy, just flowing along with the wind peacefully." She looked up, gazing upon the white fluffy clouds, a small grin on her face. "Have you slept well lately, Kaito? You seem rather tired these days."

"Yeah, I'm just fine Ai-chan," Kaito said, lying a bit. "Just a little stressed... Probably burnt-out from all the work I've been doing..." Another fleck of snow, then another. "It's snowing again..." he murmured, feeling the small bits of snow melt on his face. He sighed and smiled as he stared up at the sky. The clouds hadn't changed or grown bigger. "Look at that Ai-chan," he said. "You see? It's a clear sky, but snow is falling. I remember walking out of my house when I was little, and feeling rain fall on a clear day..."

She smiled towards him. "It really must be hard having tomaintain such a large place...there's only one of you, and I understand..." Hearing Kaito's voice, Ai looked upwards towardsthe sky. "I see it....It's really weird how rainand snow can fall on such beautiful, clear days....I believe, this is the first time seeing this. I'm glad of it, because I am seeing such a beautiful, yet odd site, with you, Kai..." She smiled again, closing her eyes for afew seconds. She was thinking; Oh, Great Silar...only if you were here to see this lovely site...Kaito would be happy to see you...I know it...

"I've heard..." Kaito said, "...that when it snows or rains on a clear day like this... That the kitsune has taken a bride... Not many people say that any more, but for a while, that was what people believed was happening when this went on..."

She nodded in agreement. "It's possible...The kitsune, like the silars and the other creatures around us, all have some special event that happens when the male finds his bride.." she said with a soft toned voice. The sweet smell of the spring blooms came to her attention, a mix of sweet perfumes surrounding the two good friends. Her eyes wondered towards Kaito, examining his expression thoroughly.

Kaito sighed softly, staring at the sky still. He blinked then, as a snowflake landed on his nose. He smiled a little and brushed the piece of snow off his nose.
"Aimi... I have a bit of a dream, you know?" he said, looking at her and smiling. "I hope that someday this world will be warm again, and that I might not be alone on my land. All I have is my cats, the occasional wolf-dog, and my watermelons."

She nodded softly, watching as the snow flakes fell from the clear blue skies. She listened closely to Kaito's 'speech', wondering how this world could be warm again.
"I too have the same dream. I despise how much hatred is in this once peaceful world right now.Yes, here in Silar there is peace and harmony in most places, but that just isn't enough. Do you agree?"

Kaito nodded. "It's sad how the world is in turmoil," he said. "And how so many people can have a hatred for others, when there's no need for it." He sighed and stood up, yawning. "I have a feeling it's going to get much colder fairly quickly... It may not be best to stay in this field for long..."
